Tomorrow when the war began

03.08.18

Chapter: Five

1. What does Corrie’s choice in career say about her character?
In the text, we are able to identify that Corrie is a kind, caring, generous person.

2. The group’s ability to avoid arguing with each other is rare- do you think that there would have been more drama if you and your friends went bush for a week?
I don't think there would be any drama unless someone wasn't like helping us with anything. We would probably be enjoying all the freedom we have and exploring new things together there would be no need for bickering.

3. Why do you think Ellie and Lee feel uneasy just before their return to Wirrawee from the Bush?
Because Ellie and Lee were having deep conversations and they started to question about the war and those planes that had flown past them during the night.

 4. What do you predict will await the group back home, why do you think this?
At first, I just predicted that they were going to come home to everything normal but it turns out things were completely different.

Chapter: Six

1. What is the first sign that something is wrong with Ellie’s house?
When Ellie had seen her dogs they were quiet and dead. Ellie went into her house and everything was quiet, there was no food set on the table nothing had been touched.

2. Who is the first person to really realise what is happening?
Corrie, because when Ellie called Corrie to do something Corrie was already moving towards that way while the others stood in shock.

3. What is Ellie’s reaction to this person’s caution? Why do you think she reacts this way?
Because no one was doing anything Ellie was making connections to fast which were leading her to think of many probabilities of how or why things are like this.

4. How is the pace in this chapter different from the chapters before?
Everythings is a lot more intense and things are moving a lot faster to build up the tension.

5. If you were in this situation, would you test the radio or not? Give reasons for your thinking
I wouldn't even bother to test it because my headspace would be in many places so I most probably won't even notice it.

6. Do you think the way the teenagers reacted to the realisation that Australia may have been invaded or at war was realistic? Why/why not
Yes, because there was no one around, power was out, everything was quiet.

7. What possible reasons exist that could spark war or invasion of Australia?
The planes that they spotted.
