Extracting DNA from a banana

Aim: I want to investigate how to extract DNA from a Banana

Materials
Measuring cylinder
Cold 95 percent ehanol
Universal indicator solution
Boling tube with rubber bung
Hooked wire on handle
Petri dish

Method:
1 first you have to place 50g of banana and 100 ml distilled water in the food blender and switch on 'High'  for 20 seconds.

2 Pour the blended banana mixture through a piece of clean muslin into a beaker.

3 Measure out  15 ml of the blended banana mix pour into a boiling tube. Add 6 drops of dishwashing detergent, put a thick rubber bung into the tube and shake for at least five minutes. （Mixture should become thick and gooey）

4 Carefully add 15ml of cold alcohol to the tube of banana mixture.The alcohol forms a layer on top of the blended banana.

5 To collect the DNA, dip a hooked wire into the mixture where the layers meet, then turn the wire to 'twist DNA and place on to a clean petri dish. Watch carefully as you lift the DNA from the mixture.

6 Add some universial indicator solution to your DNA.

set up your equipment, safety glasses on and roll up your sleves, Girls yie your hair back remove jewelry wet hands, wrist, forearms. Get a scoop of bubbles, looking at the photo after slowly open your hands up

Social Studies

For the last week and a bit my group and I have come up with questions for our two topics we have chosen, and started researching some of our questions.

We have written down the sources from where we collected our information from. Lenora has been researching a different topic we chose and Kiarn and I have been researching another topic. We our now starting to come up with ideas for presentation and taking some more notes down.

 In into the woods is a movie based on different kinds of fairy tales the one character that interests me the most is the witch because  the witches one desire is to be young and beautiful again, her objective is to have power and be young forever.
The witch is very needy and desperate to get what she wants because she knows this is her only chance to become young again until the next 100 years.
She wheres dark clothing  and has a very messy hair style, her clothes are very old,  ripped and drags down her body. The way the character acts is very needy she frustrated and I like the way her look goes with her character, this witch seems very manipulative and a bit creepy at times.

Today in p.e.I learnt how to do the bridge on the floor and I learnt about the bear roll.
I really enjoyed P.E only because Mr. H took the time to teach us how to do things.

The chocolate  popping candy popcorn wing

Ingredients
Choclate sauce
Chicken wings
Popping candy
Popcorn
3 bowls
Cake
Oven tray

How to make
First stuff you chicken will chocolate cake next you pour choclate sauce into one bowl
and popping candy into another. After crush popcorn into another bowl.

Next grab your  chicken wings and put it into your bowl of chocolate sauce after put it into the popping candy and popcorn .
After put them in your tray and bake and set it to 180 bake.  For 20 mins then add some banana on the side
