I have not put wet media in here as it is already in my blog with my art progression and I have already explained each piece and the tones and colours of my wet media. Here is my dry media which some of them did not go onto my board as they were only practised of shape, tone, and shading.
 |
Here are some sketches that I developed with information of tone and what they mean to me and why I have chosen to use certain tones and colours. It also shows how I learnt to develop drawing my angel sitting down as well as my trees. Here is shows that I created skin colour and painted up towards the legs with black at the bottom as shadowing but it didn´t really work out as it was only just rough planning and practise of my work. |

This is my why: Planning my board. Planning my theme, who my artist models are, my measurements and sizes of art pieces, what my board is based around, different media that I am working on and what I need to do to complete my board. |

This is a rough sketch of one of my art pieces and how I developed the body structure and the wings before I added charcoal to the image I made sure that I had this body structure developed. Here it doesn´t have any shading in but that is because it is only a sketch of the wings and body structure and is not completely finished. Underneath is a piece of artwork that Jerry Uelsmann created and this is where I got my inspiration of using angelic like figure in my artwork. My artwork of the angel is inspired by Uelsmann and how he likes to keep his figures dark and simple as well and that is where I got my idea from, of creating an angel and demon as one. |

Here is when I added in the charcoal and I went around with a pencil and made sure I shaded in some tones to help it stand out more and that the focal point of the picture was popping out bigger and brighter, by using charcoal and pencil to help it. I went below each feather and shaded it in a bit more so the feathers had some tone and shadowing to it and as I used the charcoal I went around the angel/demon and darken the outside area of the angel to make it stand out like I said before. But then I used my finger to smudge the charcoal outwards away from the angel/demon which helped to give it a great effect, by standing out way more.

This piece here is something that I did in my artboard I drew this in pencil and lightly went around it in charcoal to give is some shadowing and tone to it. It also helped the birds to stand out as I shaded in some parts around the areas. I also took images from offline and used that to help me create and draw those birds as well as making sure I knew where I was shading and where I wasn´t going to shade. |

Here is another image that I used to help create my forms of wings and the ways that I was going to do them. This helped me with my shaping of the wings that I used in one of my images and it was a good and helpful practice to me which I quickly learnt where I'm supposed to add in shading and other aspects. This is off an image that I found I don´t like to post them as it may be copyright to post on here but I make modifications to the wings so that they are not exactly the same and that it is completely my own work. |

This is a sketch of a tree that I did by using art models ideas as well to help me form this tree. I took a pencil and lightly sketch inside of the tree helping it to look more detailed with shading and tone to it. I also darken the smaller parts in little areas that the tree has to help it stand out more and also give it the shadowing. Below I pushed my pencil from side to side so that it was darker around the bottom which added some shading to and then I lightly moved my pencil from side to side downwards to create a lighter effect away from the tree so it was obvious of where the tree stood. |
