Tomorrow when the war began

Chapter Nineteen.

1. What makes Ellie think the soldiers walking past them are professionals?
They were very frighteningly efficient in what the were doing. The soldiers reacted as if someone had push a button on their backs. They leapt around, spread out in a wide line and threw themselves to the ground.

2. What do the soldiers fire at in the bushes?
The soldiers were firing at a rabbit.

3. What are some clues that the group is starting to think ‘more like soldiers’?
The group are sneaking around silently. They're taking orders from one person and thinking more strategically. Ellie starts to think of where they can position themselves after seeing where the cars were coming from.

4. Do you think Homer’s plan will work? What problems do you think they might encounter?
Yes, because it is well thought out the only problem they could have is maybe not finding the equipment they need or someone doesn't follow the plan. Homer is taking notice of everything in the environment. He's taking note of little details, anything that can help them.
The cows might not do what Homer and the group expect.
Someone might injure themselves which will slow the plan down.

5. What does Homer suggest they do when the group goes up to the Heron?
Homer thinks that Lee and himself should use some sort of fire to make the cattle start running, and they decide to get a truck full of petrol and park it under the bridge then draw a line of petrol leaving them with time to run away and light the petrol. Making sure one person lights it while the other one runs in case she has petrol on herself.

6. What are his strategies to put his plan into action?
Pretty much the same as No.5  Just to like herd the cows into the direction they want too.
