Hokey Pokey
Method
1. Put all ingredients except baking soda in a saucepan over low heat.
2. Raise heat slightly so it bubbles, stirs until sugar dissolves.
3. Take off heat.
4. Add baking soda and stir it. Observe
When we added the baking soda the mixture began to harden.
5. Pour carefully into tinfoil
6. allow cooling.
Equipment
- Saucepan
- Spoon
- 50g of sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 TBSP golden syrup.
We formed Carbon dioxide by heating a base which was baking soda which is Sodium bicarbonate and as the hokey pokey began to boil it released/produced carbon dioxide.
We also added one piece of chocolate to the mixture, and the hokey pokey worked out fine.
